Lightroom CC’s annoying blue icons

Is there really no way to get rid of those horrible blue icons? I don’t want to use the “Photo Grid” view because it has no metadata overlays. Am I just being overly sensitive? An app for editing photos should be pleasant to look at, but I really dislike looking at this.
