I just renewed my annual Letterboxd membership. This time I paid $49 for a year at the “Patron” level. Letterboxd is the best way I’ve ever found to manage, record, and discover movies. I love it. Paying $49 per year is an easy decision.

I keep saying that I’m done with super hero movies, and I keep being wrong. I did enjoy Wonder Woman, but was most interested in the second act. Could have done without the runaway CGI fest that was the ending.
Richard Stallman:
I edit the pages on this site with Emacs also, although volunteer helpers install the political notes and urgent notes. I have no experience with other ways of maintaining web sites. In principle I would be glad to know about other ways, but learning about them is low priority for me and I have other things to do.
I read Stallman’s notes about his processes once in a while as an insanity check.
Every once in a while I get the urge to shoot color 35mm film and scanning that film is no fun at all. The only thing I’ve ever found that made it painless is the Pakon F-135 Plus.
I recently paved and rebuilt my iMac, meaning I had to recreate my carefully-constructed Parallels/WinXP/Pakon configuration. This turned out to be no small effort. So that I don’t forget, I’ve captured a few random notes here.
I have zero concerns about “the notch” in iPhone X. I’m getting a X (pronounced, “a ten”, but I really want to write “an X”, pronounced “an ex”). I want the best camera available in a smaller form factor than the 8 plus.
